A coalition of Christian leaders in Berkeley and the vicinity dedicated to the service and well being of the African American communities that works to address the holistic needs of our communities, which include our spiritual, physical, economic and political health. The group is an alliance committed to action addressing the issues that affect and pertain to the highest, common good of communities.

The MISSION of Healthy Black Families, Inc. is to support the growth and development of healthy black families and individuals. HBF achieves their mission by providing the black community with education, engagement, capacity building, and support for individual self-advocacy and empowerment.

The Alameda County Care Alliance Advanced Illness Care Program™ addresses needs, provides trusted resources, and empowers persons needing advanced illness care and their caregivers in 5 big cornerstones: spiritual, advance care planning, health (physical and emotional), social and caregiving.

Faith in Action supports grassroots organizing which enables people of faith to build power to reshape their lives and their communities. Our network of organizations trains leaders and equips them with tools to fight racism and make society more equitable.

American Baptist Seminary of the West
American Baptist Seminary of the West (ABSW) was founded in 1871, a charter member of the Graduate Theological Union (1962), and is the center of Baptist ecumenical theological education in the far western United States. The seminary is denominationally affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA. ABSW admits students from a variety of denominational traditions and unites national and international relationships with over a century of theological education.
Graduate Theological Union
The Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley is the most comprehensive center for the graduate study of religion in North America. With a focus on interreligious and interdisciplinary perspectives, GTU faculty and students engage the world’s great religions and wisdom traditions in contemporary contexts. The GTU educates innovative leaders for the academy, religious organizations, and the nonprofit sector, equipping scholars to embody the critical thinking, ethical frameworks, compassionate values, and spiritual foundations essential to building a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.
